‘Let the magic begin’, The Arctic Circle, Norway

 Aurora Borealis

The most spectacular sight ! My first sighting was in the Lofoten Islands in the Arctic Circle, Norway back in 2018. But it was fleeting and I always wanted to travel back there to try again. Meanwhile there were two occasions in 2024 when the Aurora was visible in Ireland - 10 May and 10 October. I didn’t catch the first one but was out with my camera for the October sighting. How amazing to see it over Glendalough in Wicklow - very surreal and what a treat. And the colours were different to what I had witnessed in the Arctic -more reds and yellows. It felt like the whole country was out trying to see it !

Then I had the opportunity to go to Senja in the Arctic Circle, Norway in January 2025 and this time I had the privilege of a more stunning display.
